COSP in the Classroom

9-12 week Course - for Early Care Professionals

Children who have strong relationships with adults do better at school! The positive effects of secure attachment are even stronger for students who are struggling. As a teacher, you are in a unique position to be the safe pair of hands each learner needs to thrive socially and academically.

Adapted in collaboration with teachers for teachers

COSP-C is delivered to groups of teachers and helps them to:

Gain awareness and understanding of social-emotional needs

Assess behavioural problems through the lens of attachment

Build an environment of trust, kindness and co-operation

Encourage the learner’s comfort in seeking help when needed

Support the learner’s ability to explore and embrace challenges

Partner more confidently with parents in establishing security

TIER 2

COSP Classroom Coach

Ongoing - Min. 6 months to 1 academic year

You’ve invested time in understanding attachment needs and how to improve the quality of relationships in the classroom. Integrating new learning day to day can be a challenge. COSP Classroom Coaching is an evidence and practice-based model offering ongoing support. Together, we create shared goals, learn new observation tools and use reflective video watching to embed the COSP approach in your school environment.

Partnering with teachers to make the theory a reality

A Certified Coach offers:

Regular opportunities for observation and reflection as a group

Real-time assistance with the application of COSP-C principles

Support with fostering strong individual teacher-learner relationships

Capacity to identify and respond to individual and group needs

Guidance in adapting classroom structures, transitions and routines

Action plans to meet struggling learners’ attachment needs
